I’ve been a full time, self-employed, professional photographer for over twenty years, having initially studied at art college followed by a commercial studio in Manchester.
I soon realised that I need to work with people, capturing their expressions, mood and feelings, to get the most from my photography which is why Wedding & Portrait photography is the perfect role for me…
The saying “Love what you do and you’ll never work a day n your life” really is true for me!
Other stuff about me……. I’m a gung-ho Arian, an eternal optimist, a really loyal friend with a black belt in shopping, have a love for fancy dress parties and drink endless cups of tea!
My passion for travel has seen me backpack around India & Bangladesh, trail around Thailand, deep sea dive in Egypt and ski in much of Europe meeting amazing people and experiencing the magic that travel provides so many times.
I believe if you can’t say something kind, then say nothing at all and LOVE the idea of being in love with rom-com’s Petty Woman, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Holiday and the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel my favourite, rare, duvet day films!
I admire creativity, individuality, dedication and admire those who follow their heart and beliefs. I’m one half of a photographic couple, both striving for amazing imagery from every commission, keeping each other on our toes artistically and technically!
Being a country girl at heart, I do love all things outdoorsy, enjoying a muddy walk with my whippet-cross Margot, yet I’m happy curled up by a log fire with my cheeky terrier Jessie and a good glass of wine.
When I first picked up a camera back 1984, digital was not even an option. I learnt my craft on film and still create images thinking in that way, preferring to crop, angle and expose in camera, as I will see it on an album page or in a frame. This, for me, is what an image maker does; photography is still an art just using the camera as a brush.
Competitions and photographic awards are a great way to push yourself creatively and technically; you never stop learning in this field, so I am super-proud to have been awarded hundreds of regional and National photographic awards against some very strong competition.
Over the years I’ve realised just how very personal & empowering the relationship between photographer and subject. I’m privileged to build up that rapport with you, and in doing so I pledge to give you the very best I can; It’s something I care deeply about, and always will.
